The Flower by Rebekah Draper
The flower in my chest is wilting.
It’s the one you gave me years ago.
I doubt you’d remember now, but
a part of me hopes you’d know.
You seem to drift along the river,
while I walk along the grapevine.
That’s how I learn about you now
and pretend we still share a lifeline.
I wonder when we changed,
when our pathways split in two.
I walk through life alone, but
I thought I’d never live without you.
