Lightning In A Bottle by Kevin Castro

Lightning in a bottle, they used to call him

The little boy wonder who could brave the deadliest storm

Who could tough it out against the Old Testament Tyrant

Look Death in the eyes and spit at their feet

Lightning in a bottle, he used to be

The mythic man who brought destruction for his foes

Who fought the sky during a drought until she bled rain

Tough as a man wished he could be

Lightning in a bottle, that boy could’ve been

The glass cannon who took anyone and everyone down with him

Who could’ve been so much more than “a worthy sacrifice”

If only the stories were true
