Cage-Free, Grass-Fed People by Lane Fulwiler

They say that we are all made of stardust,
and yet, here I am,
me, in all my starriness and dust,
watching another cosmic miracle
work the counter at Wendy’s
while our fellow impossibility
(who sprang from the galaxy
like Aphrodite sprang from the sea)
turns red with anger
over a missing Diet Coke.
